Recording window & shortcuts
The recording HUD and how the configurable hotkeys behave.
The recording HUD
While you dictate, a small floating HUD appears. It shows the active Profile name and a live indicator, and reflects the pipeline state — recording, transcribing, refining — so you always know what's happening.
The recording shortcut
The global recording trigger is configurable from the Home screen or Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts. The default is a quick tap of the right Option key. How it triggers depends on the kind of shortcut you set:
- A single bare modifier (e.g. right Option) triggers on a quick tap — pressed and released in under ~0.6 s. Holding it does nothing, so you don't trigger it while using modifiers normally.
- Two or more modifiers (e.g. ⌃⌥) trigger the moment you press them together.
- A modifier + key triggers when you press the key.
Escape always cancels a recording.
The History shortcut
A second, independent shortcut opens the History overlay (default Option + Space). It's edited the same way, from Home or Settings.
Both the global hotkey and pasting require the Accessibility permission. If the shortcut does nothing while another app is focused, check Accessibility — see Install & set up.
